Well, other than ACA congress hasn't done much
I already told you the ACA was bad. Pretty much everything else that got attention failed in Congress over the past decade except for limiting Trump's ability to conspire with Russia. The reason is that everyone on each side is concerned about getting primaried out of office if they compromise and negotiate. Were you happy when Trump negotiated with Schumer and Pelosi? Do you want a compromise on improving the ACA instead of repealing it? Until people get any benefits from negotiating and compromising that won't happen. The Breitbart's of the world make negotiation harder not easier. Like it or not your opinions are not in the majority in this country, so you will have to deal with failing on most legislative initiatives unless you're willing to compromise.
Again, none of this is the point. The point is that there are so many things going on behind the scenes day to day that nobody hears about. That's "running the country" and by putting clueless ideologues into office you start to see things fall apart. How many times have we almost failed to raise the debt ceiling because of tea partiers who don't understand what failing would do?
It doesn't take a genius level IQ to be a congressman, but there is a minimum qualification and you have to take the job seriously. Guys like Roy Moore from here in Alabama just want to blow everything up. Take enough serious people out of office and replace them with lunatics and we'll see how things go.
